GABON: a new general director for the Gabonese Institute of Image and Sound (IGIS)

Constant Serge Abessolo is the newest chief executive of the Gabonese Institute of Image and Sound (IGIS). The actor, humorist and producer were appointed at the Council of Ministers on December 17, 2021. Before Serge Abessolo’s appointment, IGIS was for many years without a CEO. The Gabonese Institute of Image and Sound (IGIS) was created in February 2010. It is the new name of the former National Center of Cinema (CENACI), itself created in 1975. The Gabonese Image and Sound Institute’s mission is to develop Gabonese cinematographic and audiovisual production.
